Regenesome Marks Second Anniversary with "Regenesome Tech Forum 2026," Reporting Two Years of Research and Its Priorities for Year Three
Regenesome Inc. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Kengo Suzuki; President and Representative Director: Zentaro Sakuma) held “Regenesome Tech Forum 2026” on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Studio 1, THE LINKPILLAR 1 NORTH 6F (LiSH), 2-21-1 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Marking the company’s second anniversary, the pre-registration event brought participants together to hear what Regenesome has built since its founding in July 2024 and where it will take that work next.
Regenesome takes its name from a single premise ¡ª regeneration delivered by nanoparticles. The forum was organized around four parts: a report on two years of research, a lightning talk by a research partner, the company’s business priorities for its third year, and a networking reception.
Event Overview
Regenesome Tech Forum 2026 was held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 16:30 to 18:50 JST, with doors opening at 16:20. The venue was Studio 1, THE LINKPILLAR 1 NORTH 6F (LiSH), 2-21-1 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Regenesome Inc. hosted the forum, which was open to participants by advance registration.
Program
The forum opened at 16:30 with welcoming remarks. Zentaro Sakuma, President and Representative Director, delivered the business progress report, and Marumi Ishikawa, CRO, followed with a session on the SAISEI LAB wellness brand and its product plans. Kengo Suzuki, Representative Director and CEO, gave the technology progress report, after which the R&D team presented the company’s work on AI-assisted development of drug delivery system (DDS) technology. A researcher from Gifu University (Tokai National Higher Education and Research System) closed the presentations with a lightning talk. Closing remarks and a group photo followed at 17:50, and the evening continued with a networking reception from 18:00 to 18:50.
Two Years of Research: Measure, Deliver, Act
Delivering the technology progress report, Representative Director and CEO Kengo Suzuki laid out the shape of the company’s research across its first two years. Regenesome organizes that work into three steps: measuring aging as a number, delivering functional ingredients to a target site, and acting ¡ª having those ingredients do their work once they arrive.
On measuring, the company established a method for estimating age from DNA methylation patterns in saliva, a sample that places little burden on the body, and completed a patent application for it. DNA methylation is the mechanism that switches genes on and off; because those patterns shift in a regular way as people age, they have drawn attention worldwide as an indicator of aging.
On delivering, Regenesome designs nanoparticles that enclose and protect functional ingredients on their way to a target site. In May 2026, the company filed a joint patent application covering its flagship “bicelle ¡Á retinol” technology, with three co-applicants: Regenesome, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and its parent company Space Seed Holdings Inc. In in-vitro experiments, changes in markers of neural differentiation were suggested. Verification in living organisms is future work.
On acting, the company has pursued the functional properties of familiar materials ¡ª including ingredients derived from fermentation, microalgae and sake ¡ª through joint research with universities and companies.
Milestones Since Founding
Regenesome was founded in July 2024 as a subsidiary of Space Seed Holdings Inc. In October 2024, the company raised JPY 80 million in pre-seed funding through J-KISS convertible equity from Japan System Techniques Co., Ltd. (JAST), and in December 2024 it signed an MOU with IDDK Co., Ltd. to jointly develop an exosome production device for experiments in space.
In May 2025, Regenesome opened its research base, the Takanawa Longevity Lab, within LiSH at Takanawa Gateway. In July 2025, it announced a method for estimating age from DNA methylation markers in saliva and completed a patent application for it, and in December 2025 it filed a patent application on research into immune cell activation by the sake-derived nanoparticle “SAKESOME,” conducted jointly with Institute of Science Tokyo.
In March 2026, the company announced a technology using ergothioneine to enhance viral vector production, and began joint research with FastNeura evaluating by electroencephalography how low-oxygen environments affect cognitive function. In May 2026, it filed a patent application on its flagship “bicelle ¡Á retinol” technology with three co-applicants.
A Research Partner on Stage
Regenesome welcomed a researcher from Gifu University (Tokai National Higher Education and Research System), who delivered a lightning talk. Regenesome and the researcher work together in the field of epigenetics ¡ª DNA methylation ¡ª the science behind measuring how the body ages.
Regenesome welcomes universities, research institutions and companies as partners who move forward alongside it rather than as rivals. Hearing a researcher’s perspective in the room gave the company’s work a fresh vantage point from outside its own walls.
Priorities for Year Three: Growing the Wellness Business, Accelerating Development with AI
In the business progress report, President and Representative Director Zentaro Sakuma described how the company connects research results to products and customers. Regenesome aims to operate as a continuous platform: a wellness business that meets customers today, generating returns that are reinvested into long-term research and development.
Marumi Ishikawa, CRO, then introduced SAISEI LAB, the company’s food and wellness brand, and the direction of its product plans. The brand puts what the company learns in the lab into forms people can pick up in daily life.
The R&D team followed with the company’s approach to AI-assisted development of drug delivery system (DDS) technology. Designing and evaluating nanoparticles takes many attempts, and in this field the number of times a team can test and confirm sets the pace of development. Regenesome combines AI with laboratory automation to make that design-and-evaluation cycle more efficient, and in its third year the company will work to carry what it has learned in cells forward into verification in living organisms.
Networking Reception
The evening closed with a group photo and a networking reception, where participants and Regenesome team members spoke directly about the day’s reports and about working together in the future.
