Johnny & Associates announced Wednesday that it will not claim management fees for advertisements and television appearances by the talent agency¡¯s performers for a year, as part of efforts to take responsibility in the wake of allegations of sexual abuse made against the company¡¯s late founder, Johnny Kitagawa.
¡°The root causes of the issues that have caused everyone inconvenience lie in the late Johnny Kitagawa ¡ª the perpetrator ¡ª and our company¡¯s system,¡± the agency said on its website.
¡°We will not receive any compensation as an entertainment company,¡± it said, adding that all fees it receives will go to the performers.
