The Nagano District Court sentenced Masanori Aoki, 34, to death Tuesday for the 2023 killings of four people, including two police officers, in the city of Nakano, Nagano Prefecture.
¡°This extremely brutal crime took the lives of four precious people,¡± said presiding Judge Masashi Sakata before handing down the verdict, according to NHK. ¡°It leaves no room for leniency, and deserves the highest level of condemnation.¡±
When the verdict was read out, Aoki appeared emotionless, calmly facing forward and not moving, NHK reported.
