When Daiki Hashimoto tumbled off the pommel horse in the middle of the men¡¯s gymnastics team final, it looked like Â鶹´«Ã½ chances at Olympic gold fell with him. The odds became even longer when Japan slipped into fifth after the next rotation.

But with Kazuma Kaya helping to keep the team¡¯s spirits high, the Japanese got the break they needed to give Hashimoto a shot at redemption ¡ª and gold.

Hashimoto completed the comeback with a golden performance on the horizontal bar as Japan beat China to the top of the podium at the Paris Games on Monday.
